Inspection traveler
The hold is a step, not a vibe
An inspection traveler is a process traveler that treats inspect as work: who measures, what they measure against, and whether the tote sits until they sign. It is not a ballooned print and not a CMM routine.
Mark inspection Y only when the job waits
If the operator can keep going, the row is N. If the next station must not start, the row is Y and gets a second sign. Mixing those up is how a mill starts while the hole is still in dispute.
Name the tool when the reading matters
“0–1 mic, crib” in the notes beats “per quality.” The gage still needs a due date on the gage calibration log. The traveler does not certify the mic. It records that someone used it.
