Calibration calendar
A due list you can hang by the surface plate
Most small shops do not need a calibration CMMS. They need a list: what is overdue, what is due this month, serial number, and where the tool lives. Job Traveler prints that as one page, sorted by date, with overdue flagged.
What goes on the list
- Equipment name — the name people actually shout across the shop.
- Serial number — or your own asset number if that is what you track.
- Location — cabinet, crib, or the mill it never leaves.
- Calibration due date — the date it must be back, not the date you last thought about it.
- Notes — lab name, interval, “do not use if sticker is torn.”
How it sorts
Overdue first. Then due within 30 days. Then the rest. Rows without a date sink to the bottom as NO DATE so you can see what you never scheduled. Status on the PDF is OVERDUE, DUE SOON, OK, or NO DATE.
That is a due list. It is not a calibration certificate, not a procedure, and not proof that a gage is in tolerance. The lab sticker and the report are still the record.
Reprint when something moves
When a mic comes back from the lab, change the next due date and print again. Do not keep a wall calendar with white-out. The PDF is cheap; a missed overdue pin is not.
